Frozen Fish Sticks Again?
Put a "Wrap" on At-Home Fish Frustrations

Frozen Fish Sticks Again? (Family Features) - For a myriad of reasons, including New Year's resolutions and the ongoing quest for a healthy diet, seafood continues to be a hot topic this time of year. Yet, despite all the buzz, many people still find themselves in a "fish sticks rut."

According to the results of a seafood trends survey conducted in January 2007 by Synovate, a Chicago-based research firm, nearly two out of five Americans said they don't cook seafood at home because they don't have enough recipes. The seafood trends survey also identified lack of experience and concern about fish falling apart or coming out too dry as reasons why the respondents don't prepare seafood at home more often.

"Cooking at home doesn't have to be a challenge if you have the right resources. The Reynolds Kitchens is always developing new, easy-to-make dishes, including a wide range of seafood recipes for cooks at all skill levels," said Betty Morton, manager of the Reynolds Kitchens. "Take fish, for instance. We have a quick and easy Herbed Fish and Vegetable Packet that calls for simple seasoning and cooks in a packet made from Reynolds Wrap Release Non-Stick Foil. For the more adventurous cook, there's Pecan Coconut Crusted Fish - a sweet and savory halibut recipe with an unexpected mango, red bell pepper salsa."

A fool proof tip for those who would like to cook more seafood at home is to use Reynolds Wrap Release Non-Stick Foil - a high-strength aluminum foil with a food-safe, non-stick surface - to make the entire cooking process easier. Wrap seafood and seasoning in foil packets to lock in flavor and moisture, or line pans to prevent sticking. You can't beat the cleanup - simply toss the foil and you're done!

"Seafood, fish especially, can be a real challenge because it's so delicate," added Morton. "Using Release Non-Stick Foil ensures the food will lift off the pan in one piece."
