Close Your Party with a Candy Buffet

(Family Features) - When you host a memorable event, be sure to send your guests home in style. For a fun treat, have guests assemble their own sweet remembrance from a sweetheart candy buffet. It's a perfect finale for a shower, reception or almost any celebration.

"It's easy to create this contemporary nod to old-fashioned candy shops with a few simple items. You'll need several glass jars, favor boxes or bags, scoops, and, of course, candy," advises Nancy Siler, celebration expert at Wilton Industries.

Choose a selection of clear glass jars to hold the candies, making sure the opening of the jar is large enough for scooping the treats. Consider using a tiered cake stand to create levels and build a dramatic display. To add an elegant touch, use ribbon to tie a scoop to each jar, and choose a favor container that reflects the theme and décor of the gathering.

Offer a variety of tastes with favorites like Jordan Almonds, Message Hearts, fruit-flavored Mini Pastels and Tuxedo Mix Jelly Beans, all available at www.wilton.com. As a general rule, plan to purchase about 3 to 4 ounces of candy per guest. Having guests dish out their party favors in style puts a sterling finish on a special day. It's a sweet way to celebrate.
