Down Home Sausage Gravy

Description
A recipe for Down Home Sausage Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 package Regular Flavor Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 6 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 2 cans (12 ounces each) evaporated milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (optional)
  • 12 warm biscuits

Preparation
Cook sausage and onion in skillet over medium heat until sausage is no longer pink and onion is translucent. Stir in flour; mix well. Gradually stir in milk, water and salt; bring to simmer and cook until mixture thickens, stirring constantly. Add pepper and pepper sauce as desired; cook 2 more minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over split biscuits.
