Peanut Butter Cake With Banana Buttercream Icing

A recipe for Peanut Butter Cake With Banana Buttercream Icing

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons clear vanilla extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Wilton Guitar Pan
  • Banana Buttercream Icing

Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray guitar pan with nonstick vegetable spray. In large bowl, beat brown sugar, peanut butter and butter until light and creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Beat in combined flour, baking powder and baking soda until smooth. If desired, stir in chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 40 to 45 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean when inserted in middle. Remove cake from oven and cool on cake rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on cake rack.

To Decorate:

  • Once cake has cooled, smoothly apply white icing to side around finger board and head stock.
  • Smoothly apply dark brown icing to sides around guitar body and finger board.
  • Smoothly apply black icing to head stock and sound hole.
  • Outline sound hole black with tip #3.
  • Make tip #3 black icing dot tuners.
  • Pipe tip #16 black stars to cover bridge.
  • Cover body with tip #16 brown stars.
  • Pipe tip #3 white strings, horizontal frets and white dots to cover ends of strings.
  • Pipe white with tip #21 to produce shell border at the bottom around finger board.
  • Pipe dark brown tip #21 shell border at the bottom of guitar body.
