Snack Train

Snack Train Description
A recipe for Snack Train

Ingredients

  • Materials:
  • 8 empty juice box containers, various sizes
  • 1 empty 6- or 8-ounce can
  • 8 sheets decorative tissue paper or wrapping paper
  • Tape
  • 1 box pasta wagon wheels
  • Licorice strips (one bag)
  • Dried fruits and nuts

Preparation
Instructions:
1. Cut off top of one small juice box. Cut off backs of remaining seven juice boxes. Thoroughly wash and dry boxes, saving straws.
2. Wrap each box with tissue paper as if wrapping a gift.
3. Cut juice straws in half and slip two pasta wheels onto the ends of each piece. (Pinching ends of the straws may be required to slide them into center of pasta wheels. Straws will hold secure once they are in.) These are the wheels and axles. Two sets of wheels and axles are needed for each car.
4. Wrap can with tissue paper and lay on its side. Using tape, attach one end of can to small upright box (this will be the engine). Sit engine on a pair of wheels and tape a nut or fruit of choice to the front.
5. Lay licorice tracks on the table. Arrange wheels so one set fits beneath each car, and lay cars on top of them, applying a little glue if desired. Fill cars with extra tissue and dried fruits and nuts.
