Ghostly Meatloaves
Description
A recipe for Ghostly Meatloaves
Ingredients
- 1-3/4 pounds 85% lean ground sirloin or ground turkey
- 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon pepper
- 6 cups hot mashed potatoes
- 12 frozen peas, thawed
- 6 slices black olive
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix ground sirloin, bread crumbs, onion, brown sugar, egg whites, tomato paste, salt and pepper. Do not over mix or loaf will be heavy. Lightly spray pan cavities with vegetable pan spray. Press mixture into pans. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F for ground sirloin or 165°F for ground turkey and juices show no pink color. Remove loaves from pan; drain. Spread 1/2 cup mashed potatoes over each loaf. Position frozen peas for eyes and olive slices for mouth.
