Caramel Apple Sundae Pie

A recipe for Caramel Apple Sundae Pie
Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, divided
- 35 Nilla Wafers, finely crushed*
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup caramel topping, divided
- 1 quart (4 cups) ice cream, softened
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored and coarsely chopped
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
Preparation
Prep: 15 minutes | Cook: 5 minutes
1. MELT 4 tablespoons of butter; mix with wafer crumbs and granulated sugar until well blended. Press mixture firmly onto bottom and up side of 9-inch pie plate.
2. DRIZZLE 1/2 cup of caramel topping evenly on prepared crust. Top with scoops of ice cream. Freeze 4 hours or until ready to serve.
3. COOK apple pieces in remaining 2 tablespoons butter and brown sugar in large skillet on medium heat 5 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring frequently. Cool.
4. SPOON apples over pie and drizzle with remaining 1/4 cup topping just before serving.
