Cranberry Apple Oat Bar

A recipe for Cranberry Apple Oat Bar
Ingredients
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 1/4 cup margarine, softened
- 2 cups dried cranberries
- 1 cup apple juice
- 2 cups (2 medium) apples, peeled, cubed
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
Preparation
1. Blend first 4 ingredients; set aside. Beat brown sugar,
applesauce and margarine in large bowl, on high until
smooth. Stir-in flour mixture until crumbly. Press half onto
bottom of greased 9x13x2-inch pan; reserve other half.
2. Bake in preheated 350°F oven 15 minutes.
3. Place cranberries, apple juice, apples and cinnamon in
small saucepan; soak 20 minutes. Boil over medium high heat
5 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally.
4. Spread hot fruit over crust; crumble remaining crust
mixture over fruit.
5. Bake at 350°F 20 to 25 minutes until light brown.
