Membership/Areas of Interest:
Not a membership based organization. The foundation's
mission is to increase health promotion to the
public. Most programs are the results of research-based
initiatives designed to prevent chronic disease.
How They Work with Corporations:
AHF has a number of ongoing programs in place
to educate the public about disease prevention.
They feel strongly about reaching children while
they are so young so that they can incorporate
healthy habits into their lifestyle. Some current
programs include: .Sponsorship opportunities available
for Child health day on October 2, in D.C. This
day highlights the importance of proper diet and
exercise .Know your body program--curriculum designed
for grades K-6 in public schools on nutrition,
diet and exercise--has been sponsored in the past
by corporations such as Pepsico. The more corporate
sponsors they have, the greater the distribution
program.
Examples of past programs with corporate co-sponsors
include: Children's Health Survey with Scholastic,
Fitness Program for Teachers sponsored by Allstate,
Nutrition In-Service sponsored by Kellogg
The AHF can't endorse a product, but is open
to co-sponsorship of programs that share their
prevention messages. .Creation of a nutrition
education campaign for children .Future program
for Child Health Month or other existing program.
