Robusta Coffee: One of two species
of coffee plants (the other is Arabica) grown
for human consumption and considered the least
desirable of the two. Grown at lower altitudes,
robusta has less flavor, more caffeine and
is more plentiful than arabica. The name comes
from the plant's ability to withstand disease,
high heat and humidity. Robusta is used in
many commercial blends.
